Viscosity critical behaviour at the gel point in a 3d lattice model
Within a recently introduced model based on the bond-fluctuation dynamics we study the viscoelastic behaviour of a polymer solution at the gelation threshold. We here present the results of the numerical simulation of the model on a cubic lattice: the percolation transition, the diffusion properties and the time autocorrelation functions have been studied. From both the diffusion coefficients a...
متن کاملElastic critical behaviour in a 3d model for polymer gels
The elastic response in polymeric gels is studied by means of a percolation dynamic model. By numerical simulations the fluctuations in the gyration radius and in the center of mass motion of the percolating cluster are determined. Their scaling behaviour at the gelation threshold gives a critical exponent for the elastic modulus f ∼ 2.5± 0.1 in agreement with the prediction f = dν. PACS: 05.20...
متن کاملA viscosity model of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
In current theories of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, the idea prevails that molecular sieving relies on different accessibility of volume fractions and of cross-sectional area fractions (denoted "pores") to different-sized ions due to the effect of "geometric exclusion". This correlates with the assumption that all elements of a polyacrylamide network occupy fixed and unchangeable positio...
متن کاملViscosity calculation of polydisperse branching polymers near gel point
2014 The viscosity of randomly branched polymers has been calculated based on an interpolation formula by Marrinan and Hermans, which contains dependent on certain constants both the so called excluded-volumeeffect and the free-draining limit. Closer inspection of the constants used shows that the first choice is better direct near the gel point and yields a logarithmic divergence of the viscos...
